DEMONSTRATIONS, TUITION AND WORKSHOPS
John's demonstrations and tuition have proved extremely popular over a number of years with art societies and other groups, and participants in courses and holidays.
Tuition on landscape watercolour painting is given in various forms:
Demonstrations to art societies or other interested groups - usually of approximately two hours duration during which time John aims to complete a watercolour painting from beginning to end. In most cases the painting will be done at full imperial size allowing as many as possible to see the development of the picture. |
Day workshops for art societies or other interested groups - a full day is taken at the society or group premises with John working and explaining at the easel and participants following his instruction at their own easels. The emphasis is on participants doing their own work, with assistance from John to produce their own work in their own style. The subject and day content can be varied in agreement with the group. Working together to recreate a picture painted in advance by John has proved to be a very popular format with each participant finishing his or her own picture in the day. Alternatively a programme of participants learning the various elements of a landscape painting (trees, skies, buildings etc) can be arranged. Generally twelve participants is the maximum, otherwise it becomes impossible to give individual attention. |
Workshops at John's studio - a similar format to that above, but up to three participants only, due to space restrictions. These workshops can be tailored to individual requirements. |
